Performing Arts Training for 5–7 Year Olds
The Young Academy was created to give our youngest performers the perfect introduction to life at APA — developing their confidence, creativity and performance skills while preparing them for the exciting move into Main School.
The format mirrors our Main School programme... only shorter!
Young Academy students are introduced to the three key disciplines of ACTING, SINGING and DANCE through three lively, age-appropriate half-hour classes. Each session is carefully designed to keep young minds engaged, young imaginations busy and young performers on their feet!
Guided by our experienced, DBS-checked teachers, students are encouraged to channel all that wonderful energy and enthusiasm into creative, purposeful learning. They learn to express themselves, explore their imaginations, listen and respond, work creatively with others and begin developing the fundamental skills and techniques of performance.
Young Academy is a place where children can EXPLORE, CREATE, EXPRESS and PERFORM in a fun, safe and supportive environment — building confidence, making friends and discovering just how exciting the performing arts can be.
And one other very important thing...
They'll have FUN — and lots of it!
Because before we can inspire a child to become a great performer, we first need to inspire a love of performing.
Through our fun and energised approach to learning, we hope our Young Academy students will develop a lifelong love of theatre, build confidence that reaches far beyond the stage and, of course, make lots of friends along the way!
