All creative staff at The Academy of Performing Arts have professional, working experience within their areas of expertise and have all combined their performance work with performing arts teaching / vocal coaching / directing / choreography and have worked in some of the UK's most respected and influential theatre companies / drama schools.
For parents' peace of mind, all our teachers are DBS police checked and there is always a first aid trained teacher on duty.
Glyn Trefor-Jones > Principal
Glyn Trefor-Jones is a theatre director, writer and teacher. He has toured extensively as an actor, performing in a variety of theatre, corporate and television work as well as writing and touring his own work (establishing Prospero Productions, Liberty Productions and the Bedford Rep Theatre Company). He has written extensively for young people as well as writing, directing and producing his own musicals under the production company Glyn Trefor-Jones Presents. His latest work, Sunsets and Mornings (book and lyrics by Glyn Trefor-Jones, music by David Jonathan) premièred at the Castle Theatre, Wellingborough.
He has always combined his theatre engagements with teaching work and has worked for an eclectic array of drama schools, youth theatre companies, schools and drama groups in both the UK and USA.
He is a published author and is the writer of the best-selling drama resource book drama menu (published by Nick Hern Books).
Jessica Parker (Vocal Coach)
Jessica was born in the West Midlands and trained at the Arts Educational School (London) where she graduated with 1st class BA (HONS) in Musical Theatre.

Jess has been teaching as well as performing for many years, and loves how Performing Arts can really build confidence, as well as developing imagination and creativity in young budding performers!
Chris Passey (Vocal Coach)
West Midlands-based award-winning composer & vocal coach Chris Passey was highly commended at the 2012 Stiles and Drewe Best Best New Song Prize and a finalist for the inaugural Craig Barbour Award for Composition. In February 2013, WhatsOnStage.com Awards 2013 approached Chris and his writing partner and fiancee Amy Carroll and their song 'Stagey and Proud' was performed by Olivier award winner Sheridan Smith to a full house at the Palace Theatre. Self Taught, Still Learning - Passey's debut album featuring songs from his concept musical Bridges, with vocal performances by an elite group of West End performers - has become a best seller at Dress Circle and on iTunes, his songs have been sung in a number of acclaimed concerts in London since the release of his album including a sell out concert at the Leicester Square Lounge in January 2012.
Chris teaches and runs vocal projects around the UK, the latest being providing the choir for Josh Groban's sell-out concert at Symphony Hall in November 2015.
Jessica Noonan (School Principal - Henley-In-Arden)
Since graduating with a BA (HONS) acting degree from the University of Central Lancashire, Jess has gained extensive performance experience, working for numerous theatre companies across the country in a wide range of productions from pantomime to Shakespeare. Jess's work has seen her travel extensively throughout Europe, most recently touring Italy with a Beatles adaption before returning to the UK and appearing in Alison Dunne's 'Girls with Balls' at Leicester's Curve Theatre. She has always combined her professional engagements with teaching and she leads a number of drama workshops with both young people and adults. Jess has been a part of the Henley-In-Arden team since the school opened in 2010 and is delighted to have taken on the role of Academy Principal.
Pollyanna Noonan (Head of Young Academy - Warwickshire)
Polly graduated from the University of Exeter, one of Britain's top universities for Performing Arts. Whilst in training, Polly performed in and directed numerous musicals and plays. After graduating, Polly took on the role of Director at a theatre company located in Warwick where she worked as a director and producer - most recently directing and producing 'Beauty and the Beast'. Polly has recently returned from her first professional theatre tour, where she performed in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' in venues across the UK.
Kiera-Marie Sommers (Vocal Coach)
Kiera-Marie attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts studying Musical Theatre and graduating with honours in 2014. Since graduating, Kiera has performed in numerous stage productions including Fantine in Les Miserables, Abigail in Arthur Miller's The Crucible, The Roma Queen in new musical Yusupov and, most recently, Lucy Harris in Jekyll and Hyde. She has always combined her stage work with screen and voice over work, giving her a wide portfolio of credits; her short film work has seen her perform in several acclaimed works, regularly screened at international film festivals. Her TV credits include shows such as Casualty and The Bill and she continues to perform voice over work for both the BBC and ITV. Singing has always been close to Kiera's heart and a particular highlight of her career was singing as a soloist with Leslie Garrett at Bristol's BBC Prom in the Park.
Zoe Chamberlain (Singing and Dance Teacher)
Zoe graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2009 with a First Class Honors Degree in Music Theatre. Roles whilst training included Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, Julie Jordan in Carousel and the Countess Charlotte in Sondheim's A Little Night Music.
Zoe has worked and recorded as a performance artist - working with producers around the UK and playing numerous venues. She has musical training from the Birmingham Conservatoire and before university was a member of the Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Zoe has always had a strong passion for the performing arts and continues to combine her teaching work with a career within the industry.
Eve Oliver (Head of Young Academy - Warwickshire)
Eve trained at Stella Mann, where she graduated with a National Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre in 2012, along with a Teaching Qualification (DDI). Since graduating, she has worked on numerous films, including 'The Conversations'(2013), 'The Mentor' (2014), 'Pundemic' (2015). As well as film, Eve has also appeared in numerous stage productions, most recently playing the role of Fran in the new musical, 'One Girl, One Dream'. Eve has a passion for working with young people and has directed/choreographed countless shows, most recently choreographing a young production of 'Miss Saigon', which won numerous awards, including 'Best Youth Production' and 'Best Overall Production'.
